What version of Windows do I have?

Here are several ways you can determine which version of Windows you have.
They vary in difficulty and in the amount of information displayed.

Method 1: Look at Start Menu (usually lower left corner of screen)

Windows 11: Microsoft logo is square, blue, with gradient color Windows 10: Microsoft logo is trapezoid, with solid color

Method 2: Run winver

On the keyboard, use the keyboard command Win-R to bring up the Run box.
Here you will see the 2 keys involved, the Windows key being in the lower left.
(Do it as you would when capitalizing a letter, holding in the Windows key while you press R.)
Into the Run box, type "winver" (with no quotes) and hit OK.
You will see a picture similar to one of the two at the top.

Method 3: Windows Settings

Click the Windows Start Button (lower left corner).
This should bring up the Start Menu.
Look for the gear that indicates Settings and click it.
Once in Settings, click System.
Scroll down to find About, and click it.
Windows 11: System

Windows 11: About
Windows 10: System

Windows 10: About

Method 4: Win-Pause command

On the keyboard, use the keyboard command Win-Pause to request the same About screen as in Method 3.
