What version of Windows do I have?
Here are several ways you can determine which version of Windows you have.They vary in difficulty and in the amount of information displayed.

Method 1: Look at Start Menu (usually lower left corner of screen) | |
Windows 11: Microsoft logo is square, blue, with gradient color | Windows 10: Microsoft logo is trapezoid, with solid color |

Method 2: Run winver | |
On the keyboard, use the keyboard command Win-R to bring up the Run box.
Here you will see the 2 keys involved, the Windows key being in the lower left. (Do it as you would when capitalizing a letter, holding in the Windows key while you press R.) ![]() | |
Into the Run box, type "winver" (with no quotes) and hit OK.
You will see a picture similar to one of the two at the top. | |

Method 3: Windows Settings | |
Click the Windows Start Button (lower left corner).
This should bring up the Start Menu. Look for the gear that indicates Settings and click it. | |

Once in Settings, click System.
Scroll down to find About, and click it. | |
